What does it mean to be Episcopal?
If you have never encountered the Episcopal Church check out this video to get a sense of who we are. Our church has been working to include and advocate for members of the LGBTQ+ community for decades and LGBTQ+ individuals are free to discern to all levels of ministry in our tradition. We are not afraid of asking tough questions and seek to take responsibility for the many errors in our past in regards to racism, sexism, heterosexism, and classism. In the midst of this we recognize the value of our story throughout history and engange in ancient worship traditions and spiritual practices. The Episcopal Church is a liturgical church, not a confessional church, we define ourselves by how we pray, not a set of beliefs, this means that we encourage doubting and recognize the value of curiosity in our life of faith. As a community and individuals we strive to have lives of compassion and caring for the poor and oppressed as we seek to follow Jesus Christ.
This is a place for you. It's a place to belong. To make friends. To be yourself. You don't have to be Episcopalian or even Christian to hang out with us. We look forward to welcoming you and your awesomeness.
Peace be with you
